The Festival’s host hotel Loews Miami Beach is proud to once again host the annual Tribute Dinner. This year, we are pleased to pay tribute to Union Square Hospitality Group CEO Danny Meyer and Caymus Vineyards owner and winemaker Chuck Wagner. Loews Hotels' chairman and CEO Jonathan Tisch will serve as the evening's emcee.
This exquisite evening will feature the highest quality dishes from multiple chefs representing Union Square Hospitality Group's successful roster of restaurants; which will be paired with the finest wines from the Wagner family of wines.
At the young age of just 27, Meyer launched Union Square Cafe in 1985. Its immediate success was followed by the opening of Gramercy Tavern (1994), Eleven Madison Park and Tabla (1998), Blue Smoke and Jazz Standard (2002), its iconic Shake Shack (2004), a full service catering, sports and entertainment business with Union Square Events (2005), Maialino (2009), Untitled (2011), and North End Grill (2012). Meyer is also the author of New York Times bestseller Setting the Table (HarperCollins, 2006).
For Chuck Wagner, wine is not just a passion, it's a family business. Wagner founded Caymus Vineyards with his parents, Charlie and Lorna, in 1972. Among numerous accolades, Chuck received Wine Spectator's "Distinguished Service Award" in 2007, and Caymus Special Selection Cabernet Sauvignon remains the only wine in the world to have been twice awarded the magazine's "Wine of the Year Award" for the 1984 and 1990 vintages. Chuck says that his greatest joy after over 40 years in the business is not the daily wine he enjoys as the fruit of his labors, nor the success he's garnered-but the fact that his love of wine and winemaking has a contagious spirit that, to date, three out of his four children-Charlie, Joseph and Jenny-have caught. All Wagner wines embody the principles learned through five generations of quality farming and winemaking in California.
