Michael & Liz Symon

Michael Symon – Chef Michael Symon cooks with soul. Growing up in a Greek and Sicilian family, the Cleveland native creates boldly flavored, deeply satisfying dishes at his restaurants in America’s heartland; Lola, Roast, B Spot, Bar Symon and Mabel’s BBQ. He also shares his exuberant, approachable cooking style and infectious laugh with viewers as co-host on ABC’s The Chew and as host on The Food Networks Burgers, Brew ad Que. When he is not working, Michael is cooking at home, gardening, and spending time with his wife Liz and their Old English Bulldog Ozzy.

Liz Symon – In 1996, Liz Symon partnered with her future husband, chef Michael Symon, to open Lola, their first restaurant in Cleveland, OH. Liz brought an unpretentious elegance to Lola, along with a unique wine selection to pair with Michael’s food. In addition to the wine list, Liz also designed the restaurant, helping to create a lively atmosphere where guests could enjoy eating, drinking and socializing with out of town visitors and Clevelanders alike.
Liz and her partners have since opened Roast in Detroit, several locations of the casual B Spot burgers and, most recently, Mabel’s BBQ in Cleveland in 2016. With each opening, Liz plays an integral role in both designing and the creating beverage programs. When Liz is not in the restaurants, she enjoys spending time with her husband, her son Kyle and their Old English bulldog, Ozzy.
