Chef Ivan Dorvil of Food Network’s Chopped (Winner season 11) and Diner’s, Drive-ins, and Dives, presents Ivan’s Cookhouse. This North Miami gem has a demure and understated ambience— its high ceilings, metal accents, unpainted cement walls, and exposed wooden beams boast a rustic elegance. Chef Ivan’s vision for the restaurant developed from a desire to develop a deeper connection between him and his patrons. He wanted to create an atmosphere of peace and community, and with that idea, he built an open concept kitchen facing the entrance to greet every guest like a friend entering his home.
“Our diverse food experiences gives us a common ground, and it offers an inside look into each of our unique cultural identities. It also offers a reference point from which to share in one another’s lives. I love to pay tribute to the people and flavors that make this country a wonderful place to live. To me, our food is yet further proof of America’s open heart, its limitless capacity to embrace change and reinvent itself, its insatiable hunger for new experiences. “To me, life is fifty percent food and fifty percent love, neither of which should be less than perfect. Food + Love = Peace.” – Chef Ivan Dorvil
The Caribbean/Asian menu Chef Ivan has created was born out of a deep seeded Haitian provenance, and a passion for creating and elevating the palates of Miami foodies. After traveling the Caribbean for almost a year in search of new and exciting flavors he could transform, Chef Ivan developed a cuisine integrating an Asian piquancy to his Caribbean staples and forging an innovative and exciting coherence. So whether you are looking to explore Caribbean food in a new way, or want to enjoy a cocktail and conversation while
listening to jazz, Ivan’s cookhouse will unwind and dine you perfectly.
